LU Bakerloo Line: Elephant - Queen's Park - Harrow - BVE2
& BVE4

This is an authentic BVE route written by
Paul Jobber and Robert Hull. Updated March 2006 by Paul Jobber,
Stephen Cross and Steve Green with improved track & objects
and support for BVE4. It covers the Northbound Bakerloo line
between Elephant & Castle, Queen's Park and the northern
terminus of Harrow & Wealdstone on the WCML.
Route Overview
The first train route is a midday off-peak
service from Elephant & Castle to Harrow & Wealdstone.
This runs over Network Rail metals beyond Queens Park.
Highlights on the route include accurate stations, and special
features such as Willesden Depot, Stonebridge Park Virgin
Trains Carriage Sheds (in front of Stonebridge Park depot)
and accurate WCML trains courtesy of Anthony Bowden at >Railsimroutes<
The second train route is a midday off-peak service form Elephant
& Castle to Queens Park, where many services terminate.
This is the third version of this section of route with new
scenery, smooth curves and realistic signalling.
BONUS ROUTE: this route, operated by Silverlink
Trains Ltd is diagrammed using the dual voltage class 313
unit. The timetable is based in the privatisated era, passing
trains are of Silverlink and Virgin liveries. The Network
Rail stations have Silverlink signage.
The routes are as accurate as possible with
the information available. All the stations are accurately
decorated. There are several sharp curves with speed restrictions,
these being particularly severe at Waterloo, Piccadilly Circus,
Paddington and Queens Park.
The Bakerloo line is currently run entirely
by refurbished 1972 Mk II trains. The stock is of 3 + 4 car
formation, 7 cars with a maximum speed of 45mph. The line
north of Queens Park is jointly operated with Silverlink
Metro class 313 EMUs working from Euston Station.
All gradients, distances, positions of curves,
pointwork, stations and signalling is modelled accurately.
Signalling is, however very slightly simplified slightly
owing to limitations of BVE.
Signalling
Please see the >LU Signalling<
page for details on how the underground signals work.

The Silverlink Metro Route
BVE 4 : This would be diagrammed using the dual voltage
class 313. At the time of release there is no such train
for BVE4, so as a temporary measure we have used the class
321-4. Yes we know it doesn't pick up from the 3rd rail!
This can be downloaded from >Virtual
Rail<.
BVE2 : Download the Class 313 from the BVE2 trains page
on this website >here<
Important notes on running and installing : Please
read this carefully, I shall say this only once!
The route features realistic London Underground
Ltd signalling. To make the signalling work, you need some
special LU signals :-
BVE 2.6.x :
After installation, go your main BVE folder, you'll see
a subfolder called "LU_Northern_Signals"
Run the signal install batch file contained within
before running the routes.
The other batch file in the folder will revert the signal
types back to your existing ones when you are finished.
BVE 4.x :
LU signal installation is automatic. You need to do nothing.
